Aid Thompsin is a stand-up comedian hailing from the aftermath of Maidenhead, Berkshire. He embarked on a career in comedy to channel his relentless, ranty vitriol and appease his inner-demons - though neither goal show any signs of closure just yet.

Thompsin's style is an observational, self-deprecating, sex drugs & rock n roll catharsis - all against the backdrop of a London tiring with panel shows and ill-deserved celebrity.

Having worked the new-act circuit for a year, he is now embarking on a London-wide blitz of established nights to expand his profile.

Topics for the mic include: infuriatingly chirpy colleagues, the normalised ridiculousness of Brick Lane fashion & the awkward feeling you get when a really pretty lady's picture ends up in the paper - after her murder. Not one for the faint-hearted.

Thompsin continues to secure finalist spots in the Capital's competitions.

In November 2013, Thompsin put the wheels in motion to coordinate the first Panda Riot, a comedy night that splits all revenue equally among its acts. Frustrated with the "I'll sort you a pint, mate" payment and competitions that lean towards musical or one-liner acts, the night boasted the first 20-minute sets from circuit staples, Ashley Haden, Thompsin himself and recently-returned-to-the-UK improv wonderkid, Russell Hicks, as the headliner. The night took place on Fri 20th December at The Torriano Bar in Kentish Town and generated enough buzz and bar-sales by 10pm to get the second booked up there and then (provisionally dated for first Fri in February 2014).

Thompsin describes Panda Riot as an alternative model to the panel show routines and competition-friendly acts that cover off the wider scene. For that reason the line-ups will tend to be story-tellers, observationists, angry ranters etc. The nature of a split-all-revenue-evenly model leans more towards an unofficial, pop-up bar or festival-esque comedy event, rather than any famous headliners; though there's hope that a couple of famous faces may write a love letter to the circuit by supporting it with a spot at a Panda Riot in the future...

"Aid Thompsin is a hilarious man. His quirky yet relatable jokes always leave an audience of mine in floods of laughter. Ive had Aid on the Chuckle&Hoot stage for three gigs, one as an MC, and he has never let me down. Hes a great guy to work with, both in character and professionally. I would recommend Aid to a fellow comedy promoter for their gigs and I would happily take my friends along to watch him!" - Faye-Louise Cooper, Chuckle & Hoot.
