Ed de Cantor is an award winning comedian with strong material, a good stage presence and a strikingly confident delivery.
He is interested in doing 10, 15 or 20 minute spots throught the UK, and has a good track record, having already gigged alongside comics as formidable as Josie Long, John Moloney, Mike Wozniak, Sean Meo, Ava Vidal, Pete Firman, Mike Gunn, Junior Simpson .and (Perrier Award Winner) Nick Revell.
Ed originally did stand-up between 1998 and 2001, performing regularly alongside many comics who went on to become household names, like Michael McIntyre, Jimmy Carr and Paul Chowdhry, but a demanding day job as a national newspaper journalist severely restricted his progress.
Having retired from the day job, he embarked on a new comedy career in June 2014 and has rapidly gained a reputation as a hilarious and somewhat quirky character act. In February 2015 he won the Silver Stand-Up Awards, the national competition for the best comedian aged over 55.
He combines astute observations with clever word play and humorous poetry.
"Ed headlined our show and did a fantastic 20 minute comedy set where he wowed the audience with his fantastic storytelling and cleverly written and very funny jokes. Ed is someone who adds value to any comedy show he's a part of." Yellow Comedy, Watford.
"Guranteed to blow the roof off" Grinstock Comedy
"He quickly had the audience convulsed in laughter with some of the best material we've seen at our gigs. His demeanour which resembles an inappropriate uncle at a family gathering means his delivery is both unique and incredibly funny. This man is going places in comedy......."
